Bishop Hermann has served as administrator of the Archdiocese of St Louis since June, 2008.

St. Nicholas of Myra, on the streets of Potosi, Missouri, December 5th, 2008. Patron saint of children, he attended the Council of Nicea, Greece in 325 A.D. and helped formulate the Nicean Creed which the Catholic Church recites every Sunday at Mass.

This was the day of the 350 Jubilee Year Celebration of the parish, based on when the present church was bulit in 1658. The parish of course is much older.
 
This Mastholte, Westfalen, Germany, is the ancestral village of the Welschmeyer family in Missouri.
