Prayer Chain
Our Parish Prayer Chain announces its beginning as the Advent Season, and the Thanksgiving Holiday is before us. Glenda Farrow contact person, asks that you call names and intentions to her home phone 573-438-2672. This will “activate” and begin the “prayer chain process”. The others who are members of the prayer chain will then continue the intention on the phone prayer chain. Please be sure to give a minimum of information on name, city/state, if the person is a parishioner or not, etc.
You may also give this information by phone to Gail Aubuchon, our parish secretary at the parish office. The office phone is 573-438-4686; or toll free 888-868-8188. It is the pastor’s hope that our parishioners will take advantage of this means of prayer.
Our sympathy is sent to Mahlon "Mac" & Betty McNabb, on the death of his sister, Lucille Sago, 78, of Pocahontas, AR. She died on Wednesday, March 4th.
Does the Pope use E-mail? What is Pope Benedict XVI's Email Address?
Email Pope Benedict XVI...the
email address of Pope Benedict XVI is
benedictxvi@vatican.va.
·
It is
unlikely you will receive a personal response if you send an
email to the pope, but the Holy See does read, collect and route
all mail. The Pope possibly has another private
email address inside the Vatican.
· Pope
John Paul II, was the First Pope of the Internet Age
· When Karol Józef Wojtyla became Pope
John Paul II in 1978,
email was still in its infancy. The first
email had been written seven years ago, but barely a handful of people
knew computer networks existed at all. Yet, John Paul II became the first
email-savvy pontiff in history.
·
In late 2001, the pope reportedly apologized for injustices committed by the Roman Catholic Church persons (individuals) in Oceania
via
email. Of course, the Holy Father would have preferred to visit the Pacific nations and deliver his words of penitence in person,
but
email was the second-best choice.
· What was John Paul II's
Email Address? Pope
John Paul II's
email address was john_paul_ii@vatican.va.

The registration fee of $25 includes lunch, tips for self-care and relaxation, advice and resources-for healthcare, and reflection on God's goodness in our sacred roles as caregivers. Parish Funeral Luncheons Policy
Have you ever wondered how funeral luncheons are handled here at our parish ? It is our policy at St. James Parish, that when a parishioner dies, should the family desire a funeral luncheon, they are to phone the parish office. The funeral directors counsel the family as to what procedure to follow, and ask an estimate, as to how many persons, the food will be prepared for. The parish secretary makes phone calls to those involved. Mrs. Glenda Farrow and Mrs. Sharon Forrester, is the chairpersons for the kitchen staff, and purchases the groceries for the luncheon. Some paper goods and other supplies are maintained in stock, on hand. Members of the parish Ladies Sodality gather to prepare the food and beverages in the parish kitchen. The same ladies then serve the meal and clean up the hall after the luncheon is finished. The family of the deceased is asked to make a financial contribution to the funeral luncheon fund. This ensures there are funds for any possible, future, funeral luncheons. Any parish ladies who are retired may volunteer their help to serve at the funeral luncheons.
