The St.Vincent DePaul
Society is a group of men and women who care for the needs of the poor. The
major work carried on by the society at St. James is the food pantry.
The society meets once a month on the first Monday at 7:00pm. The discussion
includes the planning for the distribution of food which takes place on the 3rd Saturday
of the month from 8-11am.
The Ladies Sodality (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) is the major
organization for women. Meeting once a month on the first tuesday, they plan
and discuss many projects for the Parish. The major activity of the sodality
is the maintenance of the Liturgical vestments, vessels, and altar supplies used in
Worship.
In Ministering to the parish, the
Sodality prepares luncheons for families having a funeral.
The major fund raiser for the Sodality is
the Lenten Fish Fry on three of the Fridays of Lent.
All women are invited to belong to the
Sodality. Simply call the rectory and we will be glad to assist you.
The
Ushers Guild is the Hospitality and Transportation organization. The Guild greets
worshippers as they enter the Church and assists them in being seated along with seeing to
any needs that they may have. They are especially helpful to handicapped
worshippers.
Worshippers who wish to attend Mass yet
for one reason or another have difficulty with transportation may have one of the ushers
who is also a Van driver pick them up for either the 5:30 Mass on Saturday (Hwy 8 and
Mineral Point) or the 10:00am Mass Sunday (Town).
Our
Yearly Picnic has a twofold purpose : A large gathering of both parishioners and non

success of the picnic comes from the almost 150 people who work to make it a success.
